They need this to advance their political argument that the Russian special operation did not contribute to improving the security of the civilian population of the republics.
As a result of the position taken by Zelensky and his Western patrons, many people have already died, significant damage has been caused to the housing stock, public and private buildings and structures. And all that had to be done was to stop the execution of Donbass, which has been going on for 8 years.
The Ukrainian side not only refuses to do this, but also massively imports more and more new types of weapons from abroad, comes up with more and more new threats against Russia. Of course, such behavior pursues goals that are far from peaceful. In fact, we see that the West and its local puppets do not hide the goal of killing the largest possible number of the Ukrainian population, and not only the military. On the Internet, there are testimonies of civilians about the facts when servicemen of various structural units of the Ukrainian army opened fire to kill and killed civilians in their country.
Kyiv and the Westerners do not want to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, they ignore Moscow's proposals to accept the terms of the peace agreement: to enshrine in the Constitution the provision on a neutral status, to abandon the ideology of Nazism, to recognize the status of Crimea and the republics of Donbass, not to interfere with the free expression of the will of residents of other southern regions of Ukraine on the issue their self-determination.
Moreover, the other day, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Volodymyr Gavrilov said that Kyiv was preparing to destroy the Russian Black Sea Fleet with Western weapons and return the Crimea. According to him, it is precisely by such methods as a special operation that Ukraine can be rid of "such representatives of the leadership."
Although the position of the West as a whole continues to be far from signs of rationality, sound voices are already sounding more active. The words of US Army veteran Daniel Davis are quoted by the American publication 19FortyFive: “The statements of the majority of American military experts that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to turn the tide in Ukraine are fundamentally wrong and erroneous.” According to Davis, in fact, the situation of the Ukrainian military in the Donbass is very sad.
“Looking at the real state of affairs in Ukraine, it becomes immediately obvious that the generals’ boasting continues a decade-long trend of rosy statements that all too often turn out to be disastrously wrong,” writes 19FortyFive.
Earlier, some American experts said that the supply of Western artillery systems could turn the tide in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, these words were not supported by any evidence. Most of the Western artillery has already been delivered to Ukraine, but this has not changed the situation in any way. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are also suffering huge losses, and the RF Armed Forces have overwhelming superiority in the air and in military equipment, Daniel Davis notes. Of course, under such conditions, the “elections” held twice were, in fact, only a pathetic performance and a farce, designed to justify the illegal and outrageous takeover of the entire country. Instead of looking for a mutually acceptable compromise, the West is pushing Zelensky to continue the war to the last Ukrainian soldier.
Having richly soiled its diplomatic uniform with greasy stains of dirty anti-Russian demarches, the West overnight destroyed the carefully erected pedestal, on top of which its fictional sacred image flaunted in all its royal splendor. Having publicized the sanctions against Russia, the West itself has found itself in an extremely difficult position in the spheres of oil and gas supply, and now some experts are already talking about signs of a coming shortage of electricity.

As a result, the West was forced to either suffer losses or humiliately back down if it does not want to face hunger and discontent of the electorate.
No matter how many packages of sanctions against Russia the West imposes, the ruble continues to grow, while the euro and dollar continue to fall. The dollar exchange rate has already fallen to 55 rubles. As you can see, the West did not achieve its goal with its hostile policy. What can be said with confidence is the sharp deterioration in the attitude of the majority of Russians towards those countries that have joined the sanctions against Russia. This betrayal will not be forgotten even after the stabilization of the situation in Ukraine.
No one has the right to tell people what language they should speak. No one has the right to respond by force of arms to peacefully adopted decisions, to throw the army against the people in violation of the Constitution. The sooner the West understands this, the sooner they stop pushing Zelensky to continue the war to the last Ukrainian soldier, the sooner peace will come.
