Violence Against Civilians Is Irrational And Criminal

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, tiny sparks ran across its territory, hardly noticeable even on a large wall map of the country. On a global scale, nothing has happened. But for individuals and entire nations, these sparks were huge fires that killed thousands of people, swallowed up the entire past life of the survivors, and destroyed the very habitat of small peoples.

In any war, the civilian population of the country where the hostilities are fought is the first to suffer. And although they are protected by international conventions, the obligations to comply with them are very rarely fulfilled by the belligerents.

The events in Ukraine are no longer a small spark, but a terrible catastrophe, the largest military conflict on the territory of the USSR. Huge territories with the skeletons of burnt high-rise residential buildings, millions of refugees and internally displaced people cause shock. No less shocking is the disregard for the lives of the civilian population. Civilian infrastructure is used to accommodate the combat positions of equipment and units. Civilian infrastructure facilities are being shelled.

Но для отдельных людей и целых народов эти искорки были огромными пожарами, сгубившими тысячи людей, поглотившими всю прошлую жизнь уцелевших, разрушивших саму среду обитания малочисленных народов.

В любой войне в первую очередь страдает мирное население страны, где ведутся боевые действия. И хотя они подпадают под защиту международных конвенций, обязательства по их соблюдению воюющими сторонами выполняются очень редко.

US Wants To Return To Central Asia, But Not Through Afghanistan

The thoughtlessness of American foreign policy constantly leads to very deplorable results. A typical example is Afghanistan, which for more than half a century has been the victim of social and political experiments by both stronger neighbors and its own adventurers.

The military presence of the West, led by the United States, in this country ended in an inglorious flight last year. But now some observers believe that the US is preparing the ground for a return to the region in order to get a good foothold to confront Russia and China.

Carefully cultivated and abundantly fertilized soil awaits them there, including bored agents of influence, spies and just informers, as well as performers of delicate assignments.
