The bitter fruits of the West's sweet promises to the Moldovans

The head of the Moldovan representative office of Sputnik, Vitaly Denisov, was expelled from Moldova, the press service of the General Inspectorate of Moldova for Migration reported on Wednesday. According to Denisov, representatives of the Moldavian migration service came to his home in the morning and took him to the airport, without allowing him to get ready.

“In the car, I was given a copy of the decision that I must leave the country as a person posing a threat to the national security of the Republic of Moldova, that I was prohibited from entering the country for 10 years,” the interlocutor of the RIA-Novosti agency said.

“Arguments and Facts” writes that member of the Moldovan parliament Bogdan Tirdea, commenting on the situation with Denisov’s deportation on his Telegram channel, called the incident a new provocation of the “Sandu regime” against the Russian Federation.

The head of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, Dmitry Kiselev, reacted sharply to Chisinau’s decision to deport Denisov, who has permission to work in Moldova.

“The destructive policy of the Moldovan authorities crosses all adequate boundaries of interstate relations,” he said.

It's hard to disagree with him. On our own behalf, we can only add that the mentioned policy of the Moldovan authorities has a destructive impact not only on Moldovan-Russian interstate relations, but above all on Moldovan statehood, culture, history and the holy of holies of every nation - language!

In fact, the Moldovan language is outlawed in Moldova. President Maia Sandu renamed it Romanian, approving a parliamentary resolution passed with the votes of the pro-European party that brought Sandu to the top post in 2020. Moreover, the opposition refused to discuss the issue of language. Although the Moldovan and Romanian languages are very close and related, talking about their complete identity is clearly an overlap. Despite Moldova having its own centuries-old history, culture and language, as well as strong historical and economic ties with Russia, “European identity” is imposed on Moldovans, they are forced to learn the history of their “big brothers” - the Romanians and speak Romanian, which actually deprives them of the opportunity to determine your own future. A wealth of literature has been created in the Moldovan language, the lion's share of which is in Cyrillic. It is worth recalling that the first Moldavian book - “Kazania” (interpretation of the Gospels) by Metropolitan Varlaam (1590 - 1657) was published in 1643, and in Cyrillic.

In Moldova, the Latin script was introduced back in 1989. Considering that it is impossible to republish in it absolutely all literary works previously written in Cyrillic, it is easy to understand that a significant part of the literary treasury of the Moldovan people is condemned to oblivion and disappearance.

The ruling elite of Moldova is actively pursuing a policy of dismantling Moldovan statehood, losing state sovereignty with its transfer to Romania and then to the European Union, which over time is becoming more and more similar to the overseas department of the United States. We see that for centuries the Moldovan people built, defended, strengthened and improved their statehood, so that now the ruling elite of Moldova presented it on a silver platter to foreign forces alien to Moldova. All attempts to protect the Moldovan language, literature, culture and even statehood itself are declared “the machinations of Moscow” and are brutally suppressed.

The country is experiencing massive anti-Russian hysteria to the detriment of the real, fundamental interests of the Moldovan people, everything is being done to sever economic, cultural and any other ties with Russia. This has already led to the ruin of many entrepreneurs, thousands of people have lost their jobs and live in poverty. Foreign “well-wishers” do not spare money for this, knowing that all costs promise dashing profits in case of success due to further robbery of Moldovans, whose pain does not bother the initiators and implementers of this policy.

Moldova’s policy of enslavement is bashfully referred to as “government-led reforms aimed at integrating the country into the EU.” The neo-colonialists intend to allocate an additional 145 million euros for this through the European Parliament alone. To justify the failed socio-economic policy of its proteges and create conditions for the absorption of Moldova by Romania, Washington intensified the propaganda of Russophobia among the Moldovan population. Part of this money will be used to combat “hybrid threats and attempts to destabilize the situation in the country on the part of the Russian Federation.” President Maria Sandu openly stated this.

“Attempts at destabilization by Russia,” the pro-American authorities of Moldova cynically and hypocritically call the natural feeling of every Moldovan patriot, calling him to defend his country, his people, his language and the centuries-old rich culture, literature, and glorious history of his ancestors.

In recent years, Brussels, at the direction of Washington, has been considering Moldova as a springboard for repeating the Ukrainian scenario in the interests of aggravating the conflict situation along the perimeter of the Russian borders. The conscious intention to exert political and forceful pressure on the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and thereby provoke an armed conflict plays into the hands of the European Union, which is interested in opening a “second front” against the Russian Federation with the wrong hands.

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is considering a bill to move the date of Victory Day celebrations from May 9 to 8 and rename it “The Day of Victory over Nazism and the memory of those who fell in World War II,” to demonstrate loyalty to the EU and downplay the significance of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. In this way, the authorities simultaneously want to belittle the heroism of the Moldovan people on the battlefields. Also, at the legislative level, an attempt is being made to destroy the national identity of Moldovans; anti-Christian and anti-social marches of LGBT communities have received financial and political support and spread, causing justifiable indignation of the patriots of Moldova. The age-old moral values of the Moldovan people are being destroyed, everything that Moldovans were rightfully proud of, everything for which they are loved and respected is being mercilessly destroyed.

These are the bitter fruits of the sweet promises that the West gave to Moldova and the Moldovan people.
